Veg Recipe - Stuffed Parwal

Feeding children, vegetables is always an uphill task! To get a tasty way to feed vegetables to children is every mom's dream. Here is an example of such recipe which make the children, love the vegetables. Learn the tricks!


Ingredients - 

500 g Pointed Gourd

Pointed Gourd

for filling - 
paneer (cottage cheese)
250 g paneer (cottage cheese)
1/2 tsp cumin powder, 
1/2 tsp coriander powder
dry red chili powder, garam masala powder
1/2 tsp dry red chili powder, garam masala powder
1/2 tsp sugar, 
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
50 g cashew
1 tsp mint leaf paste
salt to taste

for curry -
bay leaf, dry red chili
2 bay leaf, dry red chili
2 dry red chili, 
1 tsp cumin seed
50 g cashew nuts
150 g onion
100 g tomato
1 tsp turmeric powder, 
1 tsp cumin powder, 
1 tsp coriander powder, 
1/2 tsp dry red chili powder, 
1/2 tsp Kashmeri red chili powder (for color)
1 tsp corn flour
2 large sized onion (sliced)
salt to taste
25 g cashew, 
25 g raisin, 
25 g poppy seeds 
25 g seasme seeds
1/2 tsp sugar 
1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
100 g whisked yogurt

Method -
First, scale off the thinner outer fibre of the pointed gourds. Cut off two pointed tips at the both ends, peel off skins, keep little skin left in between. 
Now, slit the pointed gourds horizontally with the tip of a knife. Remove the seeds from inside, make it a hollow shell.

Prepare the filling - 
Stuffed and Sealed pointed Gourd
Mix all the filling ingredients very well. divide in equal portion to fill inside the hollow shell of pointed gourd.

After filling the stuff, seal the gourds diagonally across with the help of a toothpick.

Making Curry - 
Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry onions dipped in corn flour. keep aside.
Now fry the stuffed gourds, keeping the sealed side upside, initially. Gradually, turn other side and fry well the gourds. Keep aside.
Fried onion
Pour oil in a heated pan. Saute, 2 bay leaf, 2 dry red chili, 1 tsp cumin seed and 50 g cashew nuts. 
Add onion and tomato paste. Add salt to taste, 1 tsp each, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, dry red chili powder, Kashmeri red chili powder (for color).Mix and stir.
Now add paste of 25 g cashew, 25 g raisin, 25 g poppy seeds, 25 g sesame seeds, together.
After few minutes cooking, when oil comes out add little water

add 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder then, add the fried pointed gourd.
Now add whisked yogurt. Yogurt must be whisked well to add in cooking, unless it get curdled. Now add fried onions.
Put lid on, cook for 4-5 minutes. 

Now get the delicious Stuffed Paneer Pointed Gourd!
